Multi-handed trading standards and money laundering investigation into several companies operating in home improvements and the supply and fitting of windows, said to target vulnerable individuals over a three-year period. Six-to-eight week trial.

CPS discontinue money laundering prosecution against an LP Evans client. Despite an investigation lasting well over a year, the case was discontinued after solicitors made an application to the court for undisclosed evidence.

LP Evans successfully represented a Lance Corporal acquitted of GBH. Defence team led by Yaqub and Zoe with the assistance of leading defence barrister Neil FitzGibbon. The case had been hanging over our client for two years; the acquittal allowed him to continue his career.

LP Evans represent one of five defendants charged with what was described as the ‘organised planning and professional execution of a series of domestic robberies and burglaries’ in the Surrey and Sussex areas.

LP Evans were instructed by six of seven defendants in an investigation into a significant number of domestic burglaries across Hampshire and neighbouring counties since 2019, all allegedly committed by a single gang. Counsel argued that the prosecution had failed in its duty to disclose highly relevant cell-site evidence going to the heart of the case. Following lengthy legal argument at trial, the Crown were forced to discontinue against our client and all other defendants.

Instructed by one of five defendants in a case involving the alleged supply of cocaine and cannabis by organised criminal groups in Yorkshire and the North East. The investigation culminated in thousands of pages of cell-site data, message downloads and CCTV surveillance, all painstakingly analysed and challenged by our senior solicitors specialising in high-level drugs supply.

Possession of explosives. The defendant had a previous terrorism conviction; the case was successfully dismissed by the judge on abuse of process grounds. The Crown appealed and the Court of Appeal upheld the dismissal.
